Justice League of America #98 (May 1972) VG $6.08
Here is an oldie but goodie from 1972. It features one the earliest heroes in the DC universe. Sargon the Sorcerer first appeared in All-American Comics #26 (May 1941). He was a magician/crimefighter in the Golden age who later went bad for a while in the Silver age and in this issue he returned for the purpose of helping the Justice League of America in their fight against a cosmic vampire named Starbreaker. He splits up the Justice league into teams and sends them off on an errand to collect duplicates of his own “Ruby of life”.
After the three rupees are united their energies are united with alien tech from the planets Thanagar and Krypton. Hawkgirl is seen briefly on one panel aboard her Thanagarian starship. In the next panel we see Supergirl representing Krypton from her cousin’s Fortress of Solitude.
