Three Hawkgirls (cont.)

Here is an update of the Hawkgirl/Covergirl Collection. I collect comic books and only ones with Hawkgirl on the cover (or some from the 1970s where she’s on the inside). This time around I bought three Hawkgirl’s and another one of those issues from the 1970s where Hawkgirl may not be on the cover, but she does appear in the story. Here are details regarding the three Hawkgirl issues.

Hawkgirl was a short-lived series published between 2006 and 2007. The series numbering started with issue #50 (May 2006) as the series was a continuation of the longer-lived Hawkman volume 4 series that ran from 2002 and 2006.

Hawkgirl appears on the cover of all 16 issues of the series. Fourteen of the covers were drawn by Howard Chaykin. To put it bluntly, I am not a fan of Mr. Chaykin’s depiction of Hawkgirl. I think that on most of the covers in this series, Hawkgirl’s poses and facial expressions are awkward and almost comical.
