Millennium #1 (January 1988) VF $1.70
I cannot say that this one was before my time. Instead, I will say that this was between my time. Millennium came in the time between Crisis on Infinite Earths (COIE) and the end of the Nineties, an era in DC comics that I am least familiar with. I think that Millennium was the first post-Crisis cross-over event. It consisted of eight issues published for 8 weeks from January 1988 to February of that year. There were approximately 40 tie-ins published throughout the eight-week period. Hawkgirl appears just below the last “M” in the title.
Besides the cover, the Hawks appeared on page 10.
You can tell that this is the Eighties… check-out Black Canary in the center of the page. Here is another look at the eighties version of Black Canary.
From the solicitation: Millennium Week 1. Week one of DC’s companywide crossover of 1987 gets underway by informing readers that the Manhunters were created as a force for good three-and-a-half billion years ago by the Guardians of the Universe. However, they have turned against their masters and are now gunning for Earth’s heroes and for ten special “chosen ones” that have been selected by the Guardians. Various DC characters, such as Wally West’s dad, are revealed to be Manhunters. Written by Steve Englehart, with layouts by Joe Staton and finishes by Ian Gibson. Cover price $0.75. Grade: Very Fine
