How Much Did You Say That Was?

How Much Did You Say That Was? – As I have mentioned in previous posts, there are a dozen Hawkgirl covers that are outside my price range. When I first started doing research, prior buying anything, I learned that anything on my list of Hawkgirl cover appearances that was older than 1964 was going to be far more expensive that what I was willing or even able to pay. The earliest item on the list that I could afford was Hawkman #3 (August 1964). I found one rated Good condition for $6.00. Curious to see what “Good” looked like, I ordered it and when I was satisfied with the quality, I then proceeded with collecting the Hawkgirl/Covergirl collection.

I discovered a site called Heritage Auctions and did a brief survey of sales in the past ten years of books of interest to me. In the list below, there are nine books from the Golden Age of comic books and three from the early days of the Silver Age of comics. Note that most of the items in the list are “near mint” and therefore on the extreme end in terms of pricing.
